Services: Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) - Disabled/Elderly component of CEAP is for the low to moderate income elderly and disabled that are on a limited income and can’t pay utility bills.
Cooling Equipment and Heating Equipment - Aid may even be offered to help clean, repair, clean, or replace inefficient cooling or heating and appliances and help people become energy efficient.
Energy Crisis component is for someone in a crisis and facing a disconnection. Or if you are faced with a shortage of your power source this may be able to help.
Head Start - A free program to help children develop. Families and individuals who also participate in Head Start will also receive access to nutritional information, social services, assistance with GED preparation or other educational needs, , dental and medical screens for the children, resource referral, parenting and social skills training, etc.
Housing and Rent Help - Some funds from the CSBG fund may be able to help prevent evictions and deal with housing issues. At the least learn about a number of local and national based rental assistance programs. Read more on rental programs.
Western and Central Texas housing programs are extensive. They include transitional units and emergency shelter. Families can receive basic needs as well, such as food, information on financial assistance and deposits programs, and ongoing case management.
